liQpop: a pop-up-party fundraiser

A powerhouse lineup of Long Island City’s top venues, including M. Wells and Dutch Kills, are joining forces to launch the first 'liQpop' pop-up-party and fundraiser to benefit liQcity’s formal transition into a non-profit corporation.  

Already a popular neighborhood blog in Long Island City, liQcity.com is officially transitioning into a 501(c)3 non-profit community development organization. Under its new incorporation, liQcity will be dedicated to providing LIC residents with rich and diverse community resources on its website to better support local businesses, arts, community organizations, and responsible development within the neighborhood. liQcity will also actively produce community events, and work in tangible ways within and outside the website to promote the development of the ever-evolving LIC neighborhood.

liQpop’s kickoff will feature the celebrated M. Wells, recipient of two stars from the New York Times and ranked one of Bon Appetit’s 10 Best New Restaurants in America 2011, who will showcase their unique brand of culinary concoctions. 

Cocktails will be crafted by mixologists from LIC’s established Dutch Kills; a selection of artisan beers will be poured by LIC’s newest beer bistro, Alewife; Sommelier Ciprian Toma of Domaine Wine Bar will be serving from his personal wine collection; French macarons and pastries, courtesy of Little Oven, will served alongside coffee drinks by LIC’s beloved Sweetleaf.

The four hour event will be hosted at Manducatis Rustica alongside floral designs by Floresta, with entertainment from Zikrayat, and Steve Hofstetter of LICs forthcoming Laughing Devil Comedy Club.

liQpop will be held on Monday, Nov 14th, from 6-10pm at 46-35 Vernon Blvd, between 46th Rd & 47th Ave, Hunters Point, Long Island City, Queens, NYC.

Take the 7 train to Vernon/Jackson, the G train to 21st St, or the E/M trains to Court Square/44th Drive.

Tickets are $100 in advance, and $120 at the door (cash only).  Tickets can be purchased in person at Art of Health, 47-12 Vernon Blvd, LIC, NY, 11101 from M-F 3-8pm and Sat/Sun 12-4pm, with no ticket fee.  Contact us at info@liQcity.com with any questions or to purchase tickets outside of those hours.
